Berthold Lubetkin (1901-1990) was a Russian emigré architect who pioneered modernist design in Britain in the 1930s.

Sustaining his architectural practice Tecton he designed landmark buildings like a Highpoint apartments in Highgate, the penguin pool at London Zoo and Finsbury Health Centre.

Around 1949 he resigned from a post of designer at Peterlee new town and retired to Gloucestershire. His girl Louise Kehoe published the memoir of his life within 1995.
